The Center for Exhibition Industry Research in Bethesda MD recently released a study, "The Power of Trade Shows." The study polled over 1,000 business decision-makers nationwide on the value of trade show participation. The major findings from the study were that attendees found trade shows timesaving, current, and productive. They are also rated as a leading source for purchasing information. Among the most notable findings:
- 77% of decision-makers found at least one new supplier via trade shows
- 51% requested that an exhibitor send a sales representative
- At least 25% signed a purchase order on the spot
Among other results:
- 82% of respondents said trade shows allow them to be very productive in a concentrated amount of time
- 79% said that trade shows help them to decide what products or services to buy
- 70% said that they rely on trade shows to keep up on important trends and new developments in the industry
